How we check

The figures above are completed checks, repaired files and the middle duration of those checks, counted in the database.

Watertight
Every edge used by exactly one face is grouped into loops — one loop is one open hole. If nothing is open but the mesh still is not solid, we count the edges shared by three or more faces instead.
Normals
Winding consistency across the whole surface: if the winding disagrees anywhere, at least one face is pointing inward and the slicer cannot tell inside from outside.
Duplicate verts
We weld a copy of the mesh and count the vertices that weld actually removes — not the ones that merely share a position, which a repair could not merge without tearing the shading.
Degenerate faces
Triangles whose area is effectively zero. They carry no surface, so a slicer silently drops them and the shell they were part of stops being closed.
Self-intersections
A pairwise face-collision pass. Above 200,000 faces, or without the optional spatial index, it reports “not checked” rather than pretending it found none.
Scale / units
The largest extent in metres tells us whether the numbers read as metres, centimetres or millimetres. An STL declares no unit at all, so we say which one we assumed.

GLB · STL · ZIP — a zipped OBJ bundle keeps its .mtl and textures together. Nothing else is supported yet. The same check runs on its own page at /check.

What happens to my file?

A check without an account is read-only — Teeli never modifies what you send — and the file plus its result link are deleted 24 hours after upload. Details in the privacy policy.

What costs money?

Checking is free, as often as you like. Credits are spent only when Teeli changes or renders a file: 10 for a repair, 2 for a 720p preview. Downloading your own file is free, and a new account starts with 25 credits.
